The AMP Network provides a repository of instructional materials focused on K-14 mathematics. We wanted to offer a site for mathematics teachers that could be used for sharing lessons with other teachers. We hope this site is useful for those who download others’ lessons, and we hope you give back by posting great lessons for others to use!
AMP stands for “Arizona Mathematics Partnership” which is a project funded by the National Science Foundation to bring together mathematics teachers in Arizona middle schools and community colleges. Read more about AMP at http://azmath.org. The AMP Network was designed and created by the community college mathematics faculty leading the AMP project as a way to broadly share project resources with teachers. The “network” of teachers we have created through the AMP project is one we cherish and want to continue cultivating over time. As mathematics teachers, we all share the passion for improving mathematics education for ALL students!
Open education resources – or simply OER – are educational resources that utilize the Creative Commons (CC) licensing and are freely accessible for use in education. Under the CC licenses, authors can provide resources to students and teachers without the restrictions that traditional copyrighted material requires. It’s our way of sharing materials that teachers and others have willingly licensed under the Creative Commons licenses. You can read more about the CC licenses at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/.
Anyone can become a contributor IF you are willing to share your materials freely under the Creative Commons licenses. You can apply to become a contributor and, once approved, you’ll be able to share your materials with other teachers! You can read more about the CC licenses at http://creativecommons.org/licenses/.
To become a contributor, you’ll need to submit to us to be approved as a contributor. This is our way to ensure that those who are contributing are, in fact, teachers and experts in the field of mathematics education!
All materials provided in the AMP Network are copyrighted through the Creative Commons licenses. Under the CC licenses, authors can provide resources to students and teachers without the restrictions that traditional copyrighted material requires. It’s our way of sharing materials that teachers and others have willingly licensed under the Creative Commons licenses. When you contribute materials to the AMP Network, you will be responsible for building the correct CC license. Our system will ask you questions to help guide you through this process. If you are contributing materials from another source or author, you MUST make sure that you have permission from the source OR verify that their materials are sharable under the CC licenses.
